Help! My Alocasia Amazonica has yellowing leaves but a new bud. How do I save it?

I need a little help troubleshooting my Alocasia Amazonica (African Mask)!

It’s been struggling: a bunch of leaves yellowed/wilted (pics attached), and I can’t tell if it’s the temp or low humidity,

BUT—silver lining! I spotted a tiny new bud peeking through today. Fingers crossed this little guy pulls through.

Any guesses what’s bugging it? And tips to keep the new growth happy? I’m rooting for my tough little Alocasia. :crossed_fingers:

That new bud is a lifeline! Widespread yellowing/wilting can indeed be from soil staying too dry. Check if the soil is pulling away from the pot’s edge or feels very dry deep down. If so, give it a thorough, deep watering until water runs out the bottom. Going forward, try watering when the top inch of soil feels dry.

Update: I actually did increase the soil moisture, but the older leaves are still slowly crisping up. :wilted_flower: The only good news is two new shoots are still holding on. :seedling: Not sure what to try next—any clues?

It’s been over a month. The previously affected plants have shown two different outcomes. Some have survived, while others have died.Should I cry first or should I laugh first?
