UPDATE: Now Resolved. It wasn’t clear from the manual how this should work (especially as no email was received by the invitee, but just spotted a non flagged notification in the invitees app which, when accepted, joined the group. This process could perhaps be clarified in the documentation as it doesn’t follow conventional email invites?
New user here, so please forgive the Noob question. I’ve searched the Manuals and Community but can’t find an obvious answer, so…
I’ve recently bought and installed a hub and two zone timer to replace an old, no longer supported product from another manufacturer. Installation and set up was a simple process, and the system works well after a few days. However, I would like to be able to add my wife to the system so the she can view and control things if necessary. (We could do this with our old system).
If she logs in using the master account that’s fine, but in doing so I am logged out. If I log back in, she is logged out. We have created a RainPoint account for her, but trying to add her through ‘Invite Member’, which seems the logical thing to do, does not seem to do anything.
So, the question is, what do we need to do to grant access to two users (members?) please.
@gianlucatanzi sorry to hear that! For what it’s worth, here’s the process that I think worked for me. I say ‘I think’ as I tried a lot of things to get there.
If you haven’t already done so, register an account for the ‘member’ you wish to invite. This should be a unique email address ie not one already in use on the App.
In the App, from the master account: >Me; >Home Management; >(Name of Home); >Members; >+ (top right); >email (add email of invitee - ensuring that they have an account as in 1 above)
Initially I thought that the invitee would receive an email, but no! After what I think was 24 hours a notification appeared in the invitees app. This was a speech bubble with a blue dot on the home screen, but disappeared after actioning. Opening this displayed the invitation, and once accepted, the devices linked to the master account were displayed in the invitees app.
Yes, your understanding is correct. To enable multiple users to log in to the same account, it is necessary to add members within the family and grant them administrator privileges, which will allow for joint control of the devices.
