Hey plant lovers! ![]()
I’m thrilled to share some exciting news—my Monstera deliciosa has just unfurled a beautiful new leaf! There’s something incredibly rewarding about watching a plant thrive under your care, especially when it rewards you with fresh, lush growth.
If you’re looking to keep your Monstera happy and encourage new leaves, here’s a simple watering routine that has worked wonders for me:
Watering Routine:
-
I water my Monstera once a day with approximately 60ml of water.
-
The key is to use the soaking method: I split the 60ml into two rounds, watering with about 30ml each time.
-
I wait 5–10 minutes between rounds to allow the soil to fully absorb the moisture. This prevents water from running straight through the pot and ensures the roots get hydrated evenly.
Additional Care Tips:
-
Monitor Soil Moisture: I check the soil regularly to make sure it’s moist but not soggy. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so balance is key!
-
Ensure Good Airflow: Monsteras love well-ventilated spaces. Keep the air around them circulating to mimic their natural tropical habitat.
-
Avoid Direct Sunlight: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Too much direct sun can scorch those gorgeous leaves.
By paying attention to these details—especially the slow, soaking watering method—I’ve seen consistent growth and vibrant leaves. It’s a small daily ritual that makes a big difference!
If you have a Monstera or other plant babies, I’d love to hear about your care tips too. Happy growing! ![]()
