The launch of this community is just the beginning.
Every piece of feedback you share helps us see more clearly the path forward.
Today, we’d like to offer a glimpse into some of the plans we’re cultivating—inspired by your suggestions and designed for a better gardening experience.
In 2026, we’re working on:
Deeper smart home ecosystem integration — making watering systems a more natural part of your connected living spaces.
New types of sensors in development — for more precise data and finer gardening insights.
This is just a small part of our roadmap—more possibilities are in progress. So, which direction excites you most? Or is there another area you’d especially like us to explore?
Let us know in the comments. Your voice will always guide us forward.
Hopefully the “Deeper smart home ecosystem integration” Includes local control and Home Assistant integration. I’m in the process decommissioning all my RainPoint devices because it was blocked and have no plans to buy your product anymore due to this.
Currently, our devices are primarily designed to be operated via the RainPoint series of applications. We do not yet offer integration capabilities with Home Assistant.
I have forwarded your feedback to our product development team. We fully recognize that deeper smart home integration is crucial for many of our users; therefore, we are actively exploring potential improvements and hope to implement them in the future.
I sincerely apologize that our current products do not meet your needs, and I am very grateful that you took the time to share your concerns with us. Should you decide to give our products another try in the future, we hope to be able to offer you a more comprehensive solution.
Hopefully it will be looked at soon. There is other manufacturers coming on the market with native smart home integrations. I realy like your product range and price point. But like a lot of other users we are giving RainPoint a hard pass as it does not have local integration options.
Thank you for your continued interest in RainPoint.
I would like to share some exciting news with you. Recently, a user in our community posted about the integration of RainPoint/HomGar with Home Assistant. You can find the details in the discussion thread below:
Thank you again for your renewed interest; we hope this new development encourages you to reconsider incorporating RainPoint into your smart home setup.
I was in your same boat. I already have a bunch of Rainpoint devices but I almost gave up on Rainpoint and switched to Sonoff irrigation controllers because I wanted to integrate my irrigation system into Home Assistant.
But I’m glad I didn’t give up because the new Rainpoint Integration for Home Assistant is terrific. Here is what the “Irrigation” dashboard I created in Home Assistant looks like on my phone.
My system has a Rainpoint HTV213 and HTV245 water timer which I use to control two garden hoses and my drip irrigation system.
A few things to notice:
I can add an unlimited number of timers at the bottom.
I’ve got simple on/off buttons to toggle the different valves - no more multi-step process for turning on and off valves.
I’ve got dedicated buttons for precisely filling 2-gal watering cans and 5-gal buckets from either hose - something I do often and that used to be a pain because I had to stand over them to make sure they didn’t overflow. I’ve created a button in Home Assistant that runs the garage hose for 47 seconds, the exact time necessary to fill a 5-gal bucket based on the flow rate of my garage hose. The back hose has a lower flow rate so it takes longer (2min 45 sec) to fill a 5-gal bucket. The automation takes care of this difference automatically.
My setup is a little weird. My two controllers are hooked up in series. I don’t have a water spigot in the back yard, so zone 1 of the HTV245 in my garage supplies water to the HTV213 in my back yard, which in turn controls both the back hose and my drip irrigation system. As a result, in order to turn on the back hose I need to open BOTH zone 1 of the HTV245 and zone 2 of the HTV213. Turning on both valves just to get water to the back hose would be a pain with the Rainpoint Home app. But I’ve automated it in Home Assistant so that both valves open when I press a single button on my HA “Irrigation” dashboard.
I like it so much I just bought another 2-zone controller (HTV210B) to expand my system.
Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful response. We are deeply moved by your persistence and creativity.
We were absolutely delighted to see how you seamlessly integrated your RainPoint timer into your Home Assistant system, creating such a comprehensive and personalized dashboard. Your configuration setup is brilliantly conceived and truly showcases the powerful potential of system integration.
We are incredibly grateful that you did not give up on RainPoint and that you took the time out of your busy schedule to share your experiences with the community. Your feedback and shared use case will undoubtedly be of immense help to many other users looking to take their home irrigation systems to the next level.
Thank you once again for your support and for the spirit of active engagement you have demonstrated as a dedicated user.
