Connecting HTV210B to Display Hub?

@Ruddy - I just bought another water timer - a HTV210B. When I went to add it as a subdevice to my Display Hub (HIS019WRF-V2), the HTV210B doesn’t show up as an option. Are they not compatible? Do I have to run one gateway (i.e. the HWG009WB that came with it) to see the HTV210B and a different gateway (my Display Hub) to see my other devices (i.e. a HTV213FRF, HTV245FRF and HCS021RF)?

It appears from this page:

that the HTV210B is compatible with at least one wifi gateway, but the Display Hub gateway isn’t listed on that page as either compatible or incompatible with the HTV210B. If I switched to a different gateway (e.g. the HWG023WBRF) could I run all my devices with a single gateway?

Would a HWG040WLBRF work to talk to all my devices, since I already have one of those on-hand? The HWG040WLBRF isn’t listed on the above page either as either compatible or incompatible with the HTV210B.

If I used either a HWG023WBRF or a HWG040WLBRF as a unified gateway, could I still connect my HIS019WRF-V2 display? I really like the display for seeing the forecast, sensor readings and watering status.

Thank!

Never time - I answered my own question by trying it.

In particular, I reconfigured my system to use the HWG040WLBRF gateway I had on hand. This gateway can indeed talk to all of my existing devices (a HTV213FRF water timer, HTV245FRF water timer and HCS021RF soil sensor) as well as my new HTV210B water timer.

It doesn’t appear I can add the display (HIS019WRF-V2) as a subdevice of the new gateway, but I was able to add it as independent device in the Rainpoint Home app. That allows me to see the current indoor and outdoor conditions as well as the day’s forecast. The only thing I can’t do is see that last watering amounts or plan for my water timers. But that isn’t too big a deal.

Hi,

Thank you for sharing your findings – we’re pleased to know you resolved the compatibility issue through your own testing.

We can confirm again:
The HWG040WLBRF/HWG023WBRF gateway is compatible with your HTV210B, HTV213FRF, HTV245FRF, and HCS021RF sensors. It works perfectly with all of these devices.

The HIS019WRF-V2 itself is also a weather station gateway and cannot be added as a sub-device to other gateways (gateways cannot be nested). Your current setup, adding it as a standalone device to the RainPoint Home app so you can view indoor/outdoor conditions and weather forecasts, is excellent.

The HIS019WRF-V2 has some limitations – it doesn’t support all timer models. Your current setup (using the HWG040 gateway to control the timers and the HIS019 display center to display the weather) is a viable solution.

Thank you for your patience and for sharing your experience to help other users.

Sincerely,
