I just purchased a HTV210B to go along with my other water timers (HTV213 and HTV245). I’ve got it and my other devices connected via a HWG040WLBRF gateway. With my other devices, when I’m done a watering session it displays “Last Water Usage” in gallons, which is really helpful. The other devices also give me a “Charts” tab where I can see a history of the device’s water usage. The “Last Water Usage” display and the charts tab are missing for the HTV210B. Here is a screen shot from my HTV245 after a watering session:
Is this a limitation of the HTV410B or a bug? Because it would really be nice if past water usage data was surfaced in the app like it is for the other devices.
Thank you for your detailed observations and for providing the screenshots.
The HTV210B model indeed does not feature a built-in flow meter. Unlike the HTV213 and HTV245 models, the HTV210B was not designed with an internal water flow meter. Consequently, it is unable to detect or display water consumption data, nor can it provide the “Charts” feature for viewing water usage history. This is not a product defect or a software malfunction, but rather a difference in the design of this specific model.
If water consumption data is critical for your application, I recommend opting for the HTV213 or HTV245 models, as both of these products come equipped with a built-in flow meter.
We sincerely apologize for any confusion this may have caused, and we appreciate your understanding.
Thanks @Ruddy . I didn’t realize the HTV210B was designed without the water flow meter that most of your other water timers have. I would have gone with another HTV245 if I’d realized, but now that I’ve got it installed, I guess can live without the water usage data.
Here is a suggestion for your marketing team. It would be really helpful to have a matrix of devices along one axis and features along the other for your entire line of products, or at least all the water timers. A few of the features to include would be:
Tuya vs Rainpoint Home - Or what Hubs does it work with?
Bluetooth vs Wifi
Water flow meter
Number of outlets
Brass Inputs
Brass Outputs
Flow Attenuation (e.g. the valves on the HTV245 attentuate flow less than the HTV213)
The product feature matrix you do have (e.g. on Amazon) covers only some of your products and only some of these features. A more comprehensive product matrix would make it easier for customers like me to understand your product lineup and choose the best product for their needs.
Thank you for your message, and thank you for bringing this issue to our attention.
I completely understand your confusion. The HTV210B model does not feature a built-in flow meter; we sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding caused by the product description.
Your suggestion regarding a product comparison matrix is extremely valuable! I will forward your valuable feedback to our product team for their reference, so that in future product listings, we can more clearly outline the functional differences between the various models.
Should you have any purchasing needs in the future, please feel free to consult with us before making a selection—we would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have regarding our product specifications.
Thanks @Ruddy . I’ll definitely look at the specs more carefully next time. Fortunately I was able to implement my own version of the “last water usage” measurement for the HTV210B in Home Assistant using the time the valve was open times my own measurement of flow rate.
