HTV145FRF not opening completely?

I have a HTV145FRF that I purchased last month that is having an issue actually turning on the water.

The device is added to the system and the solenoid clicks on and off, but I do not think it is opening all the way. Most of the time (maybe 80%) when it turns on the water pressure is too low to pop up the sprinkler heads. The unit seems like it’s buzzing too while open and water running through it but I don’t know if that is normal. The batteries were brand new a few weeks ago but I tried new ones and it still behaves the same.

I have it set to go on in the morning, and a couple of times I have been able to stop the plan and start a manual watering which seemed to work. This morning I tried that through the app and by pressing the button on the device, but it did not work.

I then took the switch out and connected the sprinkler directly to the hose bib and it worked right away.

I also have a HTV245FRF on a similar sprinkler system in the back and that has worked fine each time. I am not seeing the same behavior there but I know it’s a different system so there are other potential variables.

Hi,

Thank you for providing the detailed information. We understand your HTV145FRF timer is not fully open. I will help you resolve this issue.

Please try the following steps:

  1. Replace the batteries with brand new alkaline batteries to avoid low battery causing valve malfunction.

  2. Check if the inlet/outlet is installed backwards, as this can cause valve malfunction.

  3. Install a filter screen at the inlet and clean it regularly to prevent impurities from entering the pipes and affecting the normal valve operation.

  4. Keep the tap open, increase the water pressure, and manually open and close the valve repeatedly to help clear any debris clogging it.

  5. Adjust the water supply pressure. Product operating pressure range: 0.05-0.8Mpa (7.25-116Psi)

  6. Due to long transportation and storage times, water inside the valve may evaporate, causing the silicone diaphragm to stick together. It is recommended to increase the water pressure and repeatedly open and close the valve to see if it can be opened.

  7. Please confirm the placement of the equipment. Please install the irrigation timer vertically on the ground. It is not recommended to use it at an angle, or even horizontally or upside down, as this may damage the internal valve.

If the problem persists, please provide the following information (you can send it to our after-sales email: support@rainpointonline.com):

1.A screenshot of your Amazon order details (order number, order date, seller name)

2.A short video showing: Manually opening the valve, demonstrating a comparison between a lower water pressure of 145 and a normal water pressure of 245.

Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,
