Manual Watering Question 🤔

Quick question for fellow RainPoint users —

when you press the button on the device for manual watering, does it run based on the default watering time set in the app?

I noticed mine seems to follow the app’s preset duration, just wanted to check if that’s how it works for everyone else too.

Curious to hear your experience :eyes:

Yes — when you press the physical button for manual watering, it will run based on the default watering duration set in the app.

If needed, you can adjust this default duration directly in the app to better match your watering needs. :droplet:

Thank you for your attentive observation and question! This is a very practical point of inquiry.

Your observation is absolutely correct! When you press the manual watering button on the device, the system will run for the default single-cycle watering duration that you have set for that zone in the app.

This design offers several benefits:

  1. Consistency: Whether starting remotely via the app or pressing the button directly on the device, the watering duration remains the same, preventing unpredictable water usage.

  2. Safety & Peace of Mind: It helps avoid overwatering or water waste caused by forgetting to turn off the water after manual operation.

  3. Remains Flexible: If you need a different duration, you can always adjust the default setting for that zone in the app—the manual button will then sync to the updated time.

Quick Tip: You can check and modify the default manual watering duration for each zone in the “Zone Settings” or “Device Settings” section of the app to suit different plants’ needs.

We hope this clarifies how the feature works! If you have any other questions while using RainPoint, please feel free to ask. Thank you for your support!
