I am writing to inquire about the master valve option for my system. Could you please provide instructions on how I can test if the master valve is working correctly?
I’ve connected the master valve wires to the C and M terminals on the left side, but I’m afraid that the irrigation controller does not close the valve.
I’ve tried to manually open one of the valves (3) and was expecting it not to stream water, since that at the end of the irrigation cycle the irrigation controller should turn off the master valve, but water did stream at the test valve (3).
Once the master valve is connected, it becomes active for both manual operations and scheduled programs. If a master valve is present, it essentially opens simultaneously with the zone valves. The operational sequence is as follows: the master valve opens first, followed by the zone valves; conversely, at the conclusion of an irrigation cycle, the zone valves close first, and the master valve closes last.
The 819W device is operated via the Tuya App. Although the App interface does not feature a dedicated toggle switch specifically labeled “Enable Master Valve,” the master valve function is automatically enabled by default simply by connecting the master valve to the “CM” terminal located on the left side of the device.
You may wish to try the following test: Connect the master valve to the leftmost C/M terminal, then manually activate three zones. Observe whether both the master valve and the three zone valves open, and verify that they all close once the scheduled cycle concludes.
Let be more clear.. when I’ve mentioned a manual operation I was pointing to physical manual operation, to go to the water valve and move the valve to “ON” instead of “Auto”.
Will it be possible to add a matervale test to the RainPoint app?
Thank you for following up, and for providing further clarification regarding your questions about the manual physical operation of the valves.
The water valves (24V solenoid valves) connected to the controller are typically set to the AUTO mode. You can initiate manual irrigation via the app, or by pressing the buttons directly on the device itself.
Currently, the app does not feature a dedicated master valve testing function; connecting a valve to the C/M terminal on the left side automatically enables the master valve functionality by default.
